All Is Calm, All Is Bright

It wouldn’t be the holidays without a lot of beautiful greenery. Before you go overboard with holiday plants, be careful of the following ones that can get pets in trouble:

  • Holly
  • Lilies (especially for cats)
  • Mistletoe
  • Poinsettia

A good rule of thumb is simply not to display any of these; but if you can’t resist, make sure they are out of your pet’s reach. You have so much to do already; cleaning up vomit or diarrhea isn’t likely to add cheer to your busy schedule. Organ failure and even death are possible outcomes of toxic plant ingestion. Be safe and invest in artificial plants or hold off altogether.
